Manuel Cardona is a Salvadoran scientist who specializes in rehabilitation robotics. He is the first PhD in Rehabilitation Robotics from El Salvador, Cardona's work includes the application of robotics to medicine, wearable devices, biomechanical analysis, exoskeleton robots, computer vision, AI, digital transformation and IoT.

About
Manuel Cardona received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, El Salvador, in 2004 and the M.Sc. degree in Automation and Robotics from Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain, in 2008. In 2020, He obtained the PhD (Cum Laude) in Automation and Robotics from UPM, Spain
From 2007 to 2008, and 2011, he was a Research Assistant with the Robotics and Intelligence Machines Research Group at UPM. He has a Postgraduate Degree in Scientific Research and a Postgraduate Degree and Innovation Management.
Since 2014, he has been a professor and a Researcher with the Robotics and Intelligence Machines research group and Computer Vision research group with the School of Engineering at Universidad Don Bosco (UDB) in El Salvador. He is the author of more than 80 articles and more than 200 conferences and has edited 4 books with Springer and one book with CRC Talyor & Francis USA. His research interest includes Rehabilitation Robotics, kinematic and dynamic of serial and parallel Robots, embedded systems, vision and artificial intelligence, and applications of robotics systems.
Mr. Cardona’s awards and honors include Cum Laude on PhD Thesis, the Highest Grade on Master Thesis – MSc (Hons), Laudatur, Highest Grade Bachelor Degree – BEE (Hons) and a Master and Doctoral Scholarship.
He is an IEEE Senior Member and IEEE HKN Member, He is the IEEE El Salvador Section Chair.
